Richmond Academy is a 9-12 school attended by about 420 students located in Louisdale, Nova Scotia, Canada.
On October 23, 2006, approximately 200 students walked out of class and the school, in protest of comments made by a Halifax Herald reporter, who had called all Richmond Academy students racist against the aboriginal students that go to the school. The protest started at 9:00am, while classes resumed for the students remaining in the school. At 11:30am the conflict was resolved peacefully, when the reporter who made the comments agreed to come to the school to apologize.
